Substance use treatment

Refers to a diverse array of activities and services, which encompass identifying the issue (and involving the person in therapy), brief therapeutic approaches, evaluating substance abuse and associated problems, including histories of different forms of abuse, diagnosing the issue(s), and devising a treatment plan in Project Reality that may involve counseling, medical care, psychiatric care, psychological care, social services, and post-treatment support for individuals struggling with alcohol or drug problems in the Salt Lake City area (as stated by the Institute of Medicine in 1990).

Detoxification

Therapy provided to individuals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction in Project Reality with the goal of helping them overcome their dependence.

Treatment for co-occurring substance use plus either serious mental health illness in adults / serious emotional disturbance in children

The housing provided for individuals in recovery from substance abuse is specifically designed to offer a drug and alcohol-free environment along with appropriate support services, facilitating the transition to independent living. This type of housing can be categorized as transitional living, sober houses, sober living, recovery houses, and 3/4 houses and maybe offered by Project Reality in the Salt Lake City area.

An organization like Project Reality may be considered a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) if it meets one of the following criteria outlined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2017:Receives funding through a grant under Section 330 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act or is supported by such a grant and meets other necessary requirements. Is not receiving a grant under Section 330 of the PHS Act, but has been deemed eligible for such a grant by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the recommendation of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), thus classified as a "look-alike" FQHC. SAMHSA certification for opioid treatment program (OTP)

Accreditation is a process of peer review that evaluates an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) based on the guidelines set by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for opioid treatment and the requirements established by accrediting bodies that have received SAMHSA's approval. Expert specialists familiar with opioid treatment medications and related therapeutic practices will conduct on-site visits as part of the accreditation process. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)

A DEA license, certification, or accreditation for drug treatment refers to a designation or approval issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for a drug treatment program, center, or provider like Project Reality. This designation indicates that the program, center, or provider has met certain standards set by the DEA and is authorized to provide drug treatment services, including the prescription and dispensing of controlled substances for medical purposes. The thorough diagnosis and assessment of substance misuse which involves the psychological, social, and physical influences on addiction and recovery.

Interim services for clients

Services provided to individuals whose admission to a treatment program has been declined due to the program's inability to mitigate the harmful health effects of substance abuse, improve the person's health, and reduce the risk of disease transmission. These services are available until the individual is accepted into a treatment program.

Outreach to persons in the community

Refers to the process of reaching out to individuals in the Salt Lake City Utah community who may be in need of drug treatment services and conducting an assessment of their needs and circumstances.

Complete medical history/physical exam

Refers to a comprehensive evaluation of an individual's medical history and physical condition prior to their admission into the Project Reality drug treatment program. Alcohol Detoxification

In Project Reality, medical professionals monitor the patient's vital signs, manage withdrawal symptoms, and provide medications and other treatments as needed to ensure a safe and comfortable detoxification process. The goal of alcohol detoxification services is to stabilize the patient, manage withdrawal symptoms, and prepare them for ongoing substance abuse treatment.

Benzodiazepines Detoxification

Implemented to aid patients in effectively and safely detoxifying from Benzodiazepines, or "Benzos," in order to progress to the subsequent phase of addiction therapy.

Cocaine Detoxification

Specialized care for those with severe cocaine addiction who need a more structured environment to detox. The program provides medical and psychological support, including medication-assisted treatment if needed, to safely help individuals detox from cocaine in Salt Lake City.

Methamphetamines detoxification

Medical and psychological support to help individuals safely detoxify from methamphetamine, and may include medication-assisted treatment and other forms of support.

Opioids detoxification

Suicide prevention services

Methadone

Naltrexone (oral)

Nicotine replacement

Non-nicotine smoking/tobacco cessation

Medications that work on the brain to reduce a person's desire for tobacco and are not containing nicotine are known as smoking cessation medications. Anger management
