What Coverage Levels And Plans Does Highmark Offer?
In order to provide insurance services and programs to its members, Highmark Inc. collaborates with healthcare affiliates and provider networks around the country. In Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia, its plans provide coverage for almost 5.6 million individuals.
In addition, Blue Cross Blue Shield is partnered with Highmark Insurance. The Affordable Care Act makes a number of Highmark insurance alternatives available to both individuals and families (ACA).
The following managed care insurance plans are offered by Highmark to their clients:
PPOs, or Preferred Provider Organizations:
Members of a PPO plan often have the option to receive care from a network without having to select a primary care provider (PCP). Members may also receive care from non-network providers, but they will be responsible for any costs that Highmark does not pay.
EPOs, or Exclusive Provider Organizations:
EPOs operate similarly to PPOs, but you cannot leave the network. While choosing a PCP to oversee their covered care is not necessary, doing so is advised.
Open Access Programs (OAP) and Point-of-Service (POS):
Members of the POS benefit plan can select a PCP to help them get care and services. Your services will be included in the network, thanks to the PCP. The member is liable for any out-of-pocket expenses for providers who are not in the network.
HMOs: Health Maintenance Organizations
Delaware and Pennsylvania participants are covered under the Highmark HMO plan. Comprehensive services are offered by this kind of health insurance plan, but members are required to use them only from the providers that are included in the network (except for emergency care and urgent care).
The Affordable Care Act (ACA), which offers comprehensive healthcare coverage to those without access to insurance through their employment, also makes Highmark insurance available.
Metal levels are used to group all medical insurance policies. These levels merely represent your monthly and one-time out-of-pocket costs; they have nothing to do with the caliber of the services you’ll receive. The metallic ranks comprise:
Gold: You have lesser out-of-pocket costs but a larger monthly premium.
Silver: The out-of-pocket expenses are balanced by your monthly payment, making both of your expenditures reasonable.
Bronze: At the time of service, you pay greater fees in addition to lower monthly premiums.
Finally, if you have Medicare and are enrolled in both Part A and Part B, you can select a Highmark plan.
